Located in Minnewaska State Park, right by Ellenville NY. Sam’s Point Preserve, or Sam’s Point Dwarf Pine Ridge Preserve, is a 4,600-acre preserve in Ulster County on the highest point of the Shawangunk Ridge in New York, on the Wawarsing, New York-Shawangunk town line. Note: As of April 2022, you may have to reserve parking before the day of your trip. (From their website – ‘The High Point Carriage road is currently under restoration. The carriage road is currently closed to the public from the intersection of High Point Footpath to the intersection with Smiley Carriage road’.)
